Here's a nearly finished painting that I'm working on.

I'm painting again.  I like it.

As for the "what is this blog for" question previously posted about, I think for now it's just a way for me to record what I'm doing and gain some confidence.  It's very hard to push your work, but it's also very easy to become complacent and afraid if you don't.  I'm still working on the fear phase.

Well...

Well, it seems that I've fallen off of the blog wagon.  Still alive, still making art.  I am trying to evaluate the purpose of this little spot in cyberspace, so have been hesitant to post recently.  I also am uncomfortable with self promotion, which seems to really be the whole point of an art blog.  Alas.

I have been able to participate in some fun things here in Northampton, MA, from a house art show a few months ago, to a sketchbook project which closed yesterday.  A few of my pieces are currently on view at Mango Mango, Amherst.

In terms of the actual work that I've been doing, I've been shifting away from my circle stuff and exploring some other things.  I believe that there is still work to be done in that vein, but I don't want to tie myself down to a single schtick.  It feels more like production than creation.

I have recently begun to meld my interest in textiles with my art, and have been trying to translate some of my visual aesthetic and thematic interests into works with fabric and thread.  I am trying to take better photographs of my work so far so that I can share it on this space.

Thanks everyone for occasionally checking in with me!  Enjoy your summer.

February Show

Hey folks, long time no post.

I'm going to be one of the featured artists at Wall Talk Art & Design for the February show, on view February 11, 12, and 13.  Apparently I'll be there on Friday the 11th for Northampton's Arts Night Out, looking absurdly suave.  I'll have some of the same old stuff and hopefully a few newer things on view, so if you are in Western Massachusetts, come on down.
